Costco Hearing Aids
Costco hearing aids are available at Costco hearing aid centers. There are three brands of prescription hearing aids available at Costco in 2024: Jabra, Philips, and Rexton. There have been various brands sold at Costco including their own brand, Kirkland hearing aids. Their most recent release, the Kirkland Signature 10 hearing aids, are no longer available.
There are many hearing aid brands which are owned by the same parent company, so these brands can share hearing aid and wireless accessory technology. Jabra is made by GN which also owns ReSound. Philips is made by Demant which also owns Oticon. Rexton is made by WSAudiology which also owns Widex and Signia.
Costco provides excellent hearing aids at a more affordable price. Find a Costco near you. Your Costco hearing healthcare provider will evaluate your hearing to determine if hearing aids are appropriate.
Costco Hearing Aid Center Appointments
1st Appointment
At your initial appointment, your hearing healthcare provider (hearing aid specialist or audiologist) will take a case history and assess your hearing in a soundproof booth. If your provider determines that you are a hearing aid candidate, hearing aids can be selected based on your hearing needs and preferences.
2nd Appointment
After your hearing test and hearing aid selection, you will return for a follow-up hearing aid fitting appointment. Costco completes real-ear measurements (REM) during the fitting process. Use of REM is best practice as it helps your provider determine if the hearing aids are amplifying sound within the recommended range based upon your hearing test results. Your ear canal’s unique sound signature (acoustics) are taken into consideration, so you can get the best sound settings for your needs.
3rd Appointment and Beyond
It takes time to adjust to wearing hearing aids. The sound quality is likely to sound unnatural at first, but you should find that the hearing aids gradually sound better and more natural once you get past the initial adaptation period. Consistent use of the hearing aids is very important so that you can acclimate to all the new sounds in your environment.
After a period of time, you may want an adjustment made to the hearing aids. Your provider can make these changes at this 3rd appointment (1st follow-up). There is also the option of having a remote hearing aid adjustment. Consult with your local Costco provider for more details. Regular checks and cleaning of the hearing aids is also recommended.
Costco Hearing Aids Options
Costco hearing aids are available in various styles, from custom molded to fit inside the ear to devices that sit behind the ear. They can use either disposable or rechargeable batteries. Extra batteries are available at the Costco Hearing Aid Center in all sizes (10, 312, 13, or 675).
In 2024, you may also purchase over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids from Costco. The Lexie B2 is available, however this device is self-fitting and does not have the customization that is available with Costco prescription hearing aids.
Hearing aids can be set to automatically adjust depending on your listening environment, or you can adjust them yourself with onboard controls, remotes, or an app on your smartphone. Costco also has a variety of accessory devices that wirelessly connect to Costco hearing aids. These include external microphones for hearing better in noise and TV audio streamers that help you hear and understand speech while watching your favorite television programs.
