Starkey Evolv AI (Top 7 Features)

The best hearing aid of 2022 from Starkey is the Starkey Evolv AI.  The Starkey Evolv AI hearing aids are available as custom molded inside the ear or behind the ear/receiver in canal styles.  It’s available with rechargeable and disposable batteries, and it offers a telecoil option for the phone on some models.  This hearing aid uses AI or Artificial Intelligence that listens to your environment to optimize the sound quality for improved speech clarity and comfort.

Feature #1 – Always on AI

The Starkey Evolv AI hearing aids feature always on, artificial intelligence sound processing.  This helps improve hearing in challenging listening environments by improving speech clarity and comfort.

Feature #2 – Small and Wireless

If you want a discreet hearing aid, the Starkey Evolv AI is also available as a 2.4 GHz wireless, completely-in-canal style or CIC.  There’s also a non-wireless CIC and an IIC or invisible-in-canal style available.

Feature #3 – Fast Processing

Starkey reports that the Evolv AI makes 55 million automatic adjustments every hour which results in a “40% reduction in noise energy.”  This results in a reduced listening effort compared to previously available Starkey hearing aid technology.

Feature #4 – Thrive hearing control app

The Starkey Evolv AI pairs with the Thrive hearing control app to expand the functionality of your hearing aids.  You can access a fitness and brain tracker, fall detection and alerts, a voice assistant, language translation, audio transcription, and reminders.  You also have control over your hearing aid volume, program selection, and sound equalization.

Personalized sound settings can be created and linked to locations using the location data from your smartphone, so these custom settings can be activated when you arrive at your favorite coffee shop or restaurant.  The thrive app also offers remote adjustment with your hearing healthcare provider over video chat, connection to caregivers with ThriveCare, and hearing aid self checks.

Feature #5 – Bluetooth audio streaming

You can stream audio directly to Starkey Evolv AI hearing aids from iPhones, iPads, iPod touch, and some Android devices (including Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel).  If your smartphone is not compatible for direct audio streaming, you can stream audio using the Remote Microphone + accessory.

There’s also other wireless accessories available like remotes, several microphone options, and a television sound streamer.  Check out the links below for smartphone compatibility and more info on wireless accessories.

Feature #6 – Multiflex Tinnitus Pro

This feature provides different tinnitus masking sounds for tinnitus relief.  Tinnitus is also known as ringing in the ears.  Consult with an audiologist to determine if a tinnitus masker is appropriate for you.  Use of a tinnitus masker in addition to hearing aid amplification can help take your mind off of the tinnitus and make it less bothersome.

Feature #7 – Tap Control

You have the ability to control your hearing aids with just a double tap of your hand.  A double tap can activate Edge mode for enhanced hearing, use the thrive voice assistant, or start/stop audio streaming.
